BTS’s J-Hope Explains The Movements And Meanings For The Sign Language In “Permission To Dance”

In their latest single, “Permission to Dance,” the members of BTS incorporated Korean sign language and international sign language into the choreography.

During a recent interview with SBS News, J-Hope gave a break down of the hand movements and the meanings behind them! Here’s a lesson from the main dancer of BTS himself.

First, spread out your fingers and bend them, then do a scratching motion by your chest. This means “It is fun.”

For the second sign, one hand should stick out palm-side up like a stage while the other hand’s first and second fingers “dance” on top. This sign means dancing!

Lastly, make two Vs with the first two fingers of each hand. This movement communicates peace.
